6am – A         2020 NEWS:

  • Biden campaign burning through funds at rate tough to sustain. Joe Biden’s campaign burn rate is one of the highest of any top-tier presidential primary candidate since 2008, in July through September spending 12.1% more than it took in and more than 30% higher than his chief rivals, such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, according to data analyzed by the Washington Examiner. In the third quarter of 2019, covering July through September, Biden’s campaign raised $15.7 million and spent $17.6 million. The only candidate with a higher spending deficit was California Sen. Kamala Harris, who raised $11.8 million and spent $14.5 million, a 122.9% burn rate. Among Biden’s most costly expenditures, aside from staffing, was the use of private jets, which ran him $924,000. Biden also spent over $230,000 on “fundraising consultants” and tens of thousands of dollars on ritzy hotels such as the Carlyle Hotel in New York City. At the end of September, Biden’s campaign had $8.98 million cash on hand, compared to Sanders, the Vermont senator who sits on $33.7 million, Massachusetts Sen. Warren at $25.7 million, South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg at $23.4 million, and Harris at $10.5 million. Biden’s campaign dismissed concerns that its spending was unsustainable after Tuesday night’s Democratic debate in Ohio.
  • WARREN SCRUBS DNA REVEAL VIDEO FROM WEBSITE & TWITTER: Embedded in the blog post was a tweet from Warren that contained the video announcing her test results. “My family (including Fox News-watchers) sat together and talked about what they think of @realDonaldTrump’s attacks on our heritage,” she tweeted at the time. “And yes, a famous geneticist analyzed my DNA and concluded that it contains Native American ancestry.”

6am – B/C     Gender studies professor suggests President Trump is to blame for obese black women. ‘I hate when people talk about black women being obese’ President Donald Trump’s policies and racism are responsible for overweight black women, Brittney Cooper, a Rutgers University women’s and gender studies professor, suggested last month. “I hate when people talk about black women being obese. I hate it because it becomes a way to blame us for a set of conditions that we didn’t create,” Cooper said. “We are living in the Trump era. And look, those policies kill our people. You can’t get access to good health care, good insurance.” Cooper also claimed that white women have an advantage when shredding unwanted pounds because black women are more stressed because of Trump. “It’s literally that the racism that you’re experiencing and the struggle to make ends meet actually means the diet don’t work for you the same,” Cooper claimed.

6am – D          INTERVIEW – REP. ANDY HARRIS – R-MD and member of the House Freedom Caucus – discussed Adam Schiff’s secret hearings, Republicans push for censuring Schiff and Elijah Cummings passing away.

  • 135 House Republicans co-sponsor resolution to censure Schiff over ‘parody’ reading of Trump-Zelensky call. A motion to censure House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., for his “parody” reading of President Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky during a hearing last month is gaining steam with House Republicans, as Fox News has learned 135 lawmakers have now signed on as co-sponsors. The resolution to censure Schiff — who has become a favorite target of Republicans for his role in the Trump impeachment inquiry — was first introduced late last month by Rep. Andy Biggs, the Arizona Republican who chairs the conservative House Freedom Caucus, and has the support of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., House Minority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., among other ranking Republicans in the lower chamber of Congress.
  • Pelosi holds off on vote to authorize Trump impeachment inquiry. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democratic leaders will hold off on a full House vote authorizing an impeachment inquiry into President Donald Trump, according to multiple lawmakers and aides. Democratic leadership sources caution, however, that the decision could be “reassessed at some point.”

6am – E         James O’Keefe Claims Hidden Camera Videos Expose CNN’s ‘Bias.’ The conservative political activist James O’Keefe has released hidden camera video taken by an “insider” at CNN that O’Keefe claimed would “expose” CNN as biased against President Trump. The recordings published to YouTube and Twitter Monday claim to capture conversations with CNN employees and audio from what O’Keefe described as network editorial meetings, including one call where a person identified as CNN president Jeff Zucker urges news staff to stay focused on impeachment–which would not be an altogether strange directive to journalists while the House of Representatives pursues an impeachment inquiry against the president. In other videos, one person described as a CNN employee described a funeral mood at the network on the night of Donald Trump’s election. O’Keefe identified the “insider” as Cary Poarch, a satellite uplink engineer who said he had been hired as a contractor at the CNN bureau in Washington.

6am – F         Obama endorses Trudeau for reelection ahead of Canadian vote. (CNN)Former President Barack Obama on Wednesday tweeted his support for Justin Trudeau, urging Canadians to reelect their Prime Minister in Monday’s federal election. “I was proud to work with Justin Trudeau as President,” Obama tweeted. “He’s a hard-working, effective leader who takes on big issues like climate change.” He continued, “The world needs his progressive leadership now, and I hope our neighbors to the north support him for another term.” Obama’s support continues the pair’s friendship from when the former US president sat in the Oval Office. It comes as Trudeau runs a competitive race against Conservative leader Andrew Scheer and in the aftermath of Trudeau’s recent blackface controversy. Last month, Time magazine surfaced photos of Trudeau wearing brownface when he was a schoolteacher in 2001. In his apology, Trudeau admitted he had put on dark makeup when he was in high school as part of a talent show in which he sang the traditional Jamaican folk song “Day-O.” CNN partner CTV News later obtained that second photo from a source, who said it is a picture of Trudeau in a yearbook at Brebeuf College. A video shows a third instance of Trudeau wearing dark makeup, this time in the early 1990s.

7am – E         ‘South Park’ episode mocks LeBron James over China comments. The producers of South Park stirred controversy involving China for a third week on Wednesday. In ” Let Them Eat Goo”, the episode mocked NBA superstar LeBron James and the comments he made about the conflict between China and the NBA. In Wednesday’s episode, the lunches at South Park Elementary School are switched with healthier options after some students complain, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cartman becomes irate over the change and goes off on another student who is in favor of healthier lunches and says they have the freedom of speech and can protest. Carman then yells, “Yes, we do have freedom of speech, but at times there are ramifications for the negative that can happen when you are not thinking about others and only thinking about yourself!.” That was the quote James gave about Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey, who tweeted his support for protesters in Hong Kong. James was heavily criticized for seemingly siding with the league. Cartman mocked James by doing a dance about “Taco Tuesday,” which James has been known to do on his social media pages. South Park episodes were banned in China two weeks ago over comments made on the series.

Plans are underway for the “March for Trump: Stop Impeachment Now!” rallies — set for Oct. 17 at the Capitol, and at locations around the nation. “We want our president to know he is not alone and we stand with him. Our president needs us more than ever before. We must not let him down,” say organizers from Women for America First, a nonprofit group that is the main force behind the march, information found here. The plans are percolating. So far, buses for rally participants have already been booked to depart from New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Ohio and Connecticut. “We are coming to Washington to support our president — to stand with him through this impeachment charade,” Amy Kremer, a longtime tea party activist and founder of the host organization — tells SiriusXM’s Breitbart News.

8am – D         INTERVIEW – REP. ANDY HARRIS – R-MD and member of the House Freedom Caucus – discussed Adam Schiff’s secret hearings, Republicans push for censuring Schiff and Elijah Cummings passing away.

8am – E         Millennials with old souls splash out on ‘grandma chic’ homes. (NY Post) — Meet the millennials who prefer a nostalgic design aesthetic inspired by the quirky comfort of their grandparents’ homes and the opulence of bygone eras. Some call it grandma chic, others label it forward-thinking traditionalism and another set dubs it preppy eclecticism. But devotees of the style have been nicknamed “grandmillennials” — a portmanteau of grandma and millennials — according to a September House Beautiful article. “Millennials are connecting with a style that used to be confined to shelter magazines. They’re putting their spin on traditional design,” says Manhattan-based interior designer Ariel Okin, who interpreted the look in actress Lena Dunham’s West Village rental for Domino’s fall cover. “These spaces are pretty, cozy and evoke a sense of home. The personality of the owners shines through.” Inspired by her mother’s romantic, tchotchke-driven approach to decor, Dunham, 33, told Domino she sought out Okin to do the same thing: “Arrange the things I’ve accumulated in an inventive and loving way. … The towels have my initials and the pillows bear embroidery of my cats.” Sisters Daria and Deanna DeChirico embraced the grandmillennial aesthetic when remodeling the 700-square-foot Sutton Place co-op they bought together. The 32- and 28-year-old siblings from Colts Neck, NJ, who both work in finance, called on Sweeten, a free service that matches homeowners with contractors, to transform an awkwardly laid-out space into an airy two-bedroom with a shared walk-in closet. Designing it themselves, they spent about $150,000 on renovations and decor. In a style they call “early American,” they jazzed up a storage closet with custom mirrored, latticed French doors, painted the walls hunter green and navy blue, lined rooms with floral wallpaper and curtains, and displayed their grandmother’s classic blue-and-white porcelain Chinoiserie throughout. “We grew up in a house fully decorated with wallpaper, décor and painted walls,” says Daria. “I love the term grandmillennial. [Deanna and I] act like 90-year-olds in a lot of ways.” Siblings Deanna and Daria DeChirico embrace their inner nonagenarians with floral patterns and polo mallets, but keep things fresh with a green subway tile kitchen backsplash. In many ways, experts say, the movement is a response to the pervasiveness of stark minimalism and midcentury-modern furnishings.
