Post a narrow win over Malaysia

Defending champion India breezed into the summit clash of the women’s Asian Champions Trophy after edging past Malaysia 3-2, for its third consecutive win, here on Thursday.

India, which beat Japan 4-1 and China 3-1 in its previous matches, is on top of the table with nine points and will take on the host in its final pool match on Saturday before Sunday’s final.

The result: India 3 (Gurjit 17, Vandana 33, Lalremsiami 40) bt Malaysia 2 (Nuraini 36, Hanis 48) .
