Fond du Lac's April events include a powwow, Easter Egg Walk, Easter Brunch & more

Fond du Lac Community Theatre presents 'The Glass Menagerie' at THELMA
Fond du Lac Community Theatre will present "The Glass Menagerie" as a bonus show April 3-6 at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts, 51 Sheboygan St.
The Tennessee Williams play is set in 1930s St. Louis and follows the Wingfield family as Tom brings home a gentleman caller for Laura to unfortunate results, highlighting struggles with family dynamics, dreams and disappointment.
Fond du Lac's show is directed by Tom Augustine, and show times are 7 p.m. April 3-5 and 2 p.m. April 6. Tickets are available for $20 on hometowntickets.com and will be $23 at the box office one hour before curtain.
Brothertown Indian Nation's eighth annual Powwow includes feast meal
Brothertown Indian Nation will host its eighth annual powwow April 5 at its community center, 311 Winnebago Drive. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the Grand Entry is 1 p.m.
The event will include vendors, giveaways, dance specials and traditional food, including a feast meal at 5:30 p.m. and drums by Gii Taa'se Singers, Medicine Bear and Iron Gate. Head dancers are Naomi Peters and Josh Zunker.

Fond du Lac Public Library challenges kids and teens to escape Giant Fairytale Forest
From April 3 to 5, the McLane Room at the Fond du Lac Public Library, 52 Sheboygan St., will turn into a Giant Fairytale Forest game.
Kids, teens and families can play for free as either a board game or an escape room, and will encounter fairytale classics like the Big Bad Wolf, Humpty Dumpty and Jack’s beanstalk.
Other events at the library this month include the second annual Tiny Art Contest, where participants can pick up a free 4-inch-by-4-inch canvas from the Help Desk while supplies last and return it as artwork by April 25 to be featured in the Langdon Divers Community Gallery and get a chance to win Best in Show or Library Staff Choice.
Prior to hosting youth artwork, the Langdon Divers gallery will feature the Open Door Artists of Fond du Lac in an exhibit that brings together 15 local artists' works under the theme "Vignette" April 2 to May 6, with a public reception April 24.

Downtown Fond du Lac hosts Easter Egg Walk
Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership will host its annual Easter Egg Walk April 12.
Participants of all ages can explore downtown and collect a variety of Easter eggs from local businesses for a chance to get either candy or special prizes.
Tickets are $10 online at downtownfdl.com. As of March 31, tickets are still available, but the DFP strongly recommends pre-purchasing tickets to guarantee a spot. Ticket-holders receive a tote bag and map when they check in on the day of the event.
Adults accompanying children do not need to purchase a ticket unless they will also collect eggs for themselves.
Fond du Lac Symphonic Band presents Pops Concert at Prairie Theater
Fond du Lac Symphonic Band will kick off its 2025 season at the Prairie Theater and Event Center, 400 University Drive, with its annual Pops Concert at 7 p.m. April 12.
The concert's theme is "Visions of America" featuring guest performers Vox from Sheboygan. The band will also premiere Erika Svanoe's "Bolérobot."
Other songs will include "Suite of Old American Dances" by Robert Russell Bennett, "Hoedown" from Aaron Copland's ballet composition "Rodeo," Frank Ticheli's "San Antonio Dances" and themes from the Western film "Silverado."
Admission is free with a chance to make a free-will donation at intermission.
Fond du Lac School District choral singers come together April 12
Every other year, Fond du Lac School District choirs from the elementary to high school level come together for the District Choral Extravaganza, and the next one falls on April 12 in the Fond du Lac High School fieldhouse, 801 Campus Drive.
Doors open at 3 p.m. for a 4 p.m. performance. This year's guest conductor is Dr. Zachary Durlam from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Tickets are $7 on hometowntickets.com or $10 at the door, and students in high school and below get free entry.
Hotel Retlaw will host Easter Brunch in the Crystal Ballroom
Anyone still figuring out what they will do on Easter Sunday can reserve a table at the Hotel Retlaw's Easter Brunch, which will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20 in the Crystal Ballroom.
The meal will be a buffet featuring classics such as French toast and bacon, as well as seared chicken breast and scalloped potatoes. Prices are $48.95 for adults and $14.95 for children ages 12 and younger. Children ages 3 and younger eat free.

Fond du Lac Area Women's Fund celebrates Power of the Purse luncheon
Fond du Lac Area Women's Fund will host its 21st annual Power of the Purse luncheon starting at 11:30 a.m. April 23 at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 625 W. Rolling Meadows Drive.
This year's theme is Forward Progress: Women and Girls Leading the Way, and the event will include a silent auction, networking opportunities and keynote speaker Susan Finco, business owner, journalist and the first woman lead director and vice president of Green Bay Packers Board of Directors Emeritus.
The 2025 Woman of Achievement is Holly Brenner, senior vice president of strategic development and marketing at C.D. Smith, who dedicates her time to many local organizations and boards, including Marian University Board of Trustees, Fond du Lac Area Boys and Girls Club, Noon Rotary and Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.
According to the Women's Fund, one of Brenner's most notable achievements was her key role in merging the Association of Commerce and the Fond du Lac Economic Development Corporation into Envision Greater Fond du Lac in 2017.
As of March 31, tickets for the luncheon were still available through fdlawomensfund.org but were expected to sell out.
