Love Island's Shaughna Phillips shares genius Usher concert hack which could save hours
Reality TV star Shaughna Phillips, who appeared on Love Island in 2020, has shared a hack that will save concert-goers hours when attending a gig at London's O2 Arena
Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has shared a genius hack for those attending Usher's UK concerts - and it could save crowd-goers hours of their time. The reality TV star attended the Confessions hitmaker's concert in London this week and took to her Instagram stories to share the hack with her 1.4 million followers.
Appearing on camera the morning after seeing the US star perform at the O2 Arena, Shaughna told her fans: "I went to Usher last night - absolutely insane, unreal. It was ten out of ten but I've seen some proper like Debbie Downer reviews on TikTok but I don't know what they were talking about because he literally played every single banger. Listen, the boy can sing."
Shaughna, 30, then went on to encourage others to use her genius hack if they are ever driving to a concert at the O2. "But what I wanted to really come on here and talk about is... this saved me about two hours. I live 15 minutes from the O2 in London and had I of parked in the actual car park for the O2, it would have taken me about two hours to get home because if you know, trying to get out of the car park after a concert is just hell. I saw a girl on Tiktok saying to park in the IKEA B&Q car parks which is about a ten minute walk," the star said referencing the Millennium Leisure Park's carpark in Greenwich.
Shaughna continued: "This way, you can cut out all of the traffic. You don't hit a single bit of traffic. The car park is empty and you get five hours free parking. So I parked there at six o'clock and Usher came out at half eight and we left about ten minutes before the end. We left at half ten and I was home by 11 o'clock. It was just the best idea I have ever had."
Fans have been flocking to London's O2 Arena in recent days as Usher continues his ten date residency at the sold-out arena, performing to 20,000 fans each night. The musician, 46, whose real name is Usher Raymond IV, certainly set the bar as high as it could go for his shows.
Earlier this week, his friend and iconic supermodel, Naomi Campbell, 54, strutted her stuff on the stage alongside the star during his track, Bad Girl, taken from his 2004 album, Confessions.
During the performance, Naomi treated the stage as though she was walking at Fashion Week as the chart-mauling star serenaded her. Naomi looked sensational as she wore a tiny silver dress which showcased her famous gym-honed physique which led her to becoming one of the most recognisable models in the world.
Meanwhile, Usher was anything but low-key with his appearance as he rocked a huge fur coat before busting out some impressive dance moves to his biggest hits from his back catalogue.
Usher's shows have been divided into ten parts, with one section seeing him take part in a 15 minute skating routine. Over the course of his three decade long career, he's achieved astronomical success and is performing his hits including U Got It Bad, Yeah!, There Goes My Baby as well as his track Climax.
During his London residency, as part of the show, Usher gets up-close and personal with his fans, and seductively hand-feeds them cocktail cherries, which has become known across social media as the "cherry game".
The moment comes mid-way through the set, where he locks eyes with an audience member, while singing to them, and starts seductively feeding them cherries.
While some fans were thoroughly entertained by this section - others humorously begged him to "stop". Sharing a video of one woman who was seductively fed cherries on the third concert (April 2), one fan joked: "Usher needs to be stopped at this point".
In another clip, where a woman fed Usher the cherries, one person took to X to write: "Usher was doing the most with them cherries," followed by a crying-while-laughing emoji. In a third clip, one person said they "couldn't believe what they were seeing".
Usher's racy cherry feeding game, known as Cherry On Top, has become a staple of this tour. The seemingly simple act has become such a phenomenon that fans buy tickets specifically hoping to be chosen for the notorious segment.
During the segment, Usher approaches an audience member with a bowl of cherries, and initiates what has become known as 'demon time' - a playful interaction that often looks seductive. Usher ends his 10 nights at the O2 on April 7.
