ANN ARBOR, MI — Despite the on-and-off rain, hundreds of people showed up to show off their paper mâché puppets at the 2025 FoolMoon street party.

The event began at 6 p.m. with live music and a game where kids could make electronic music.
In the hours leading up to the main street party, there were performances from Community High Jazz and a giant cardboard millipede that could be carried around by groups of children and parents.

At 8 p.m., the main event started as people gathered on Washington Street and a marching band and dancers hyped up the crowd. Event attendees also brought out their light-up paper mâché puppets as it got darker.
As the event went on, various bands such as the Detroit Party Marching Band went up to play and keep the crowd energized.
After tonight’s street party, there will be the FestiFools parade on Sunday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
