Two casualties have suffered 'potentially serious' injuries in an A500 horror crash. Police had stated last night that just one casualty had been taken to hospital following the collision.
But West Midlands Ambulance Service has today confirmed that two patients were taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. It followed a collision involving a lorry and three other vehicles.
The crash closed a section of the A500 southbound between the Hanford and Hanchurch roundabouts for 13 hours. The alarm was raised just after 4pm on Sunday, April 6.
An ambulance service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a multi-vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of the A500 and the A519. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. On arrival we discovered two patients, both men. They were treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital."
StokeonTrentLive has requested a more detailed statement from Staffordshire Police following the collision. Any witnesses can call the police on 101.
