David Beckham first entered the public eye in the Manchester United under-18 team back in 1991.

Since then, he’s scored more than 110 goals for England, married a Spice Girl and had four children.

While Beckham is known for his many hairstyles, he’s also known for his many, many tattoos.

He recently revealed a new head tattoo - an intricate grouping of planets inked on his left temple.

Beckham's tattoo artist Mark Mahoney confessed that the star doesn't feel pain saying: "He is the only one that doesn't feel pain. He sits amazing and is the ideal customer.

It's lucky he feels no pain. The footballer started getting inked in 1999, and now it seems he is addicted, with more than 50 tattoos in total.

Of course, every single one of them has a personal meaning to Becks, but where are they? And what do they mean to the international superstar?

Here's every tattoo and its meaning.

1 - Harper

David Beckham is well known for his adorable relationship with his children.

When his fourth child, Harper, was born in 2011, he got a brand new tattoo to celebrate his daughter.

2 - Pretty Lady

This one was added above the Harper tattoo, with a small heart in the bottom right corner.

David got this ink to celebrate his youngest child, Harper’s fourth birthday.

David got this one in 2010, describing his boys as “three cherubs”, who will need to “look after me” at some point.

6 - Lady in a Forest

The meaning behind this one remains a mystery.

It’s thought that it could symbolise his wife, Victoria or his mother, Sandra Beckham.

7 - Angel and ‘In the face of adversity’

David’s tattoo on his upper-right arm, features an angel saying ‘in the face of adversity’.

It’s an expression of his personal distress through the claim that his personal assistant, Rebecca Loos, had an affair with him.

8 - Two cherubs

(

Beckham loves to celebrate his children with tattoos inked across his body.

The ‘two cherubs’ tattoo represents his first two sons: Brooklyn and Romeo.

This tattoo was added to David’s left arm in 2008 - picturing a cherub, to represent his third son Cruz.

It is accompanied with the Proverb: ‘My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart’.

It’s thought to be a message of guidance for his third-born, who was welcomed to the world in 2005.

10 - Biblical text

This rather lengthy tattoo is thought to be an extract from the Bible.

It’s positioned on his right rib cage, and represents David’s spiritual side.

Another religious tattoo, this pictures Jesus on his way to crucifixion.

In black and white and on the right hand side of his body, this is based on the famous painting by Matthew R. Brooks - ‘The Man of Sorrows’.

It was added to David’s body when his grandfather, Joe West, passed away in 2009. In 2015, when Beckham met the Queen, he said “nan and grandad would have been so proud.”

This one joins the cloud tattoo to make up his right hand sleeve.

The phrase: ‘let them hate as long as they fear’ is adapted from a quote by the third Roman Emperor, Caligula.

14 - Pray for me

This religious phrase is tattooed on the outside of Beckham’s right wrist.

It was inspired by his move from Manchester United to L.A. Galaxy football club.

The 2007 move across the Atlantic was a difficult one for him. He remained at the club until 2012.

15 - Victoria and hummingbird

His wife’s name is tattooed on his right hand, alongside an image of a swallow.

18 - Victoria in Sanskrit

David got his wife’s name etched on his skin in 2000, a year after they got married.
